Neal Doty
Neal Doty is an artist of discipline and talent developed to a high standard of creativity. Throughout his career, Doty has demonstrated genuine passion in his work, whether drawing, painting, etching or printmaking. Doty's output is prolific, with works in acrylics, oil and primacolor pencil. His works cover Picasso's cubism period has obsessed and influenced his development , to his own innovative style, taking liberty with objects and unlikely elements in the space of the canvas. He incorporates a love of jazz with the styles of Mondrian, Matisse and Dali. Neal Doty was born in 1941, in Glendale, California. He studied at the Art Center School of Design (Los Angeles, 1967); Los Angeles City College (AA Degree, Fine Art, 1971); and California State University at Northridge (BA Degree, Fine Art, 1973). A student of the late Ben Duer, Mr. Doty was awarded 1st Place in the 1976 Larchmont Art Exhibit in Los Angeles and, in 1977, worked as a commissioned artist with Paramount Studios in Hollywood. Mr. Doty’s works have appeared at the N.Y. Art Expo in New York City, the Wash Art Fair in Washington, D.C., and the Basel Art Fair in Basel, Switzerland. Neal has "pushed the envelope" in his innovative printmaking and painting techniques and has a vast body of work collected around the world.
