Barsoumian Hratchya Najar
Born in 1939 in Alep, Syria, Najjar-Barsiumian Hratchya initially studied design in his native Syria. He moved to Paris in 1966 where he attended the prestigious Ecole des Beaux-Arts and shifted his focus to engraving for which he became well known. His palette of natural tones and textures, with sparing use of contrasting colours, evokes both peace and a sense of mystery. his work has been exhibited throughout Europe and several times in the USA at the New York Coliseum.
